Manor Independent School District (MISD) has been celebrating literacy all summer long! Children and families can explore reading aboard the “Reading on the Go” Manor book bus.
The traveling book bus has been making stops around Manor helping families build their book collection one book at a time. Through a partnership with the ReBook program, the Manor book bus is fully stocked with a wide selection of books for all ages.
The MISD also provided laptops and iPads loaded with reading material via MyON. The “Reading on the Go” bus has something for everyone to kickback and enjoy reading! Children are encouraged to select books to take home. Reading during the summer is crucial for students in retaining academic gains made the previous school year.
Through the ReBook program, Manor also secured books to fill the 15 little free libraries that were built and placed throughout Manor neighborhoods. The Little Free Library is intented as a means for the community to share their favorite books with one another throughout the year!
The mobile library will be operating through the end of July to increase the Manor community’s access to books.
