Janis Daemmrich is vice president of client relations at Bob Daemmrich Photography, where she has worked with her editorial and commercial photographer husband for 28 years. She earned a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri and was a sportswriter and editor at several daily newspapers, including the Austin American-Statesman in the early 1980s. She also worked in corporate communications before joining Bob in his business. Janis serves on the boards of the Downtown Austin Alliance and Austin Helps Honduras and on Bookspring’s finance committee, is active at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, and volunteers with Mobile Loaves and Fishes. She and Bob have two adult sons.
Her favorite children’s book is any Winnie the Pooh book by A.A. Milne, which her parents read to her while she was little. As a child, Janis savored the deliberate pace of action and the camaraderie between the characters. When she was older and into chapter books, Janis enjoyed the adventures of the Bobbsey Twins and Nancy Drew.
