Thania Gonzalez grew up in Brownsville – located at the southernmost tip of Texas. Thania has been an infant, toddler and preschool teacher in Head Start so she understands the importance of introducing books and reading to children at an early age. She has also worked as an early childhood teacher mentor with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Workforce Solutions. Thania Gonzalez holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from UT- RGV and currently works for AVANCE, a non-profit working together with children and caregivers in primarily Latino communities to achieve social and economic justice. In her current role, she works with licensed and registered homes and provides professional development to owners/directors and childcare teachers. Thania enjoys traveling with her husband and being a caregiver to her 11-month-old daughter Gianna.
