As the Creative Outreach Manager, Karen Arneson oversees the Books Beginning at Birth (B3) weekly newsletter and manages the new English/Spanish bilingual BookSpring Originals Press imprint.  She also serves as the staff liason of the Community Advisory Council. In her professional life before BookSpring, Karen worked 18 years with the K-12 educational publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Outside of work, Karen is an active member and volunteer of the Austin Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), where she currently serves as the writing critique facilitator. In her spare time, Karen enjoys reading and writing poetry and children’s book stories, hiking with her dog, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She is also the proud steward of her neighborhood Little Free Library.
