Big Book Giveaway
This spring, our first-ever Big Book Giveaway invited local educators to hand-select titles for their students and classroom libraries. Over seven April weekends, 151 educators from 51 schools across 9 districts chose nearly 20,000 books, including over 3,200 Spanish titles, to spark a love for reading.
Educators know their students’ interests best, and this event gave them the chance to curate book selections more precisely. While the primary focus was on building book ownership for children, educators also had the freedom to use books for classroom and campus libraries or as classroom sets. Still, most books were shared directly with students for personal ownership, ensuring kids could take home stories of their own.
