BookSpring Originals
Books that speak both languages
Libros que hablan los dos idiomas
Bilingual picture books made by BookSpring, the Austin nonprofit that has spent more than 50 years putting books into children’s hands.
Families asked us for these books
Las familias nos pidieron estos libros
This is the honest version: we kept hearing the same request from the families, schools, libraries, and clinics we serve. Good bilingual books are hard to find, and harder still to afford by the boxful.
So after fifty years of buying books for other people’s shelves, we started publishing our own.
Both languages, same page
Los dos idiomas, en la misma página
Not a translation tucked in the back. English and Spanish share every spread, so a grandmother and a grandchild can read the same page at the same time.
- Playful, with stories children ask for again
- Affordable, so partners can give them away by the box
- Built for sharing, with room for talking and moving
