We partner with community based organizations that work with children and families to provide early literacy programs.
Reading regularly with young children stimulates optimal patterns of brain development and strengthens parent-child relationships at a critical time in child development. Reading helps build language, literacy, and social emotional skills that last a lifetime. Please consider partnering with us on the following programs:
BookSpring Days
BookSpring Days are designed to be a one day, high-impact literacy celebration event where each family can participate in motivational activities, spend time in our mobile Pop-Up Reading Room, and bring home no less than three quality children’s books of their choosing. We work closely with each partner to customize their BookSpring Day to best suit the needs of their organization and clients. Organizations that serve children in low income settings can apply for books and BookSpring Days through Open Book.
Early Books for Me
Early Books for Me is our early childhood book ownership program which serves children ages 0-5 attending local child development centers. Teachers and volunteers motivate children to read with a themed read aloud, exciting literacy-related activities and book distribution. Every child in this program will get to choose 3 age-appropriate books per year from BookSpring.
Parent Book Clubs
Parent Book Clubs are a variety of customizable, hands-on literacy training programs for parent and caregivers of young children in our community at no cost through partner organizations working with children (ages 0-5). These programs model and provide guided practices to educate and empower parents to make reading at home part of their family’s daily routine.
While many Go events are often open to the general public, programs target children 12 and under living in low income zip codes and their parents. The results are a critical mass of books at home over time and positive literacy experiences for children and families.
