BookSpring partners with organizations who cannot afford our nominal program fees for formal, evidence-based programs such as BookSpring Ed, BookSpring Go, and BookSpringRx areas (books plus technical support, professional development, volunteers, motivational materials, and curricular supports) can apply to the Open Book program, which provides free books locally to groups that work with low income families in Central Texas as they are available.
BookSpring accepts applications from child-serving programs on an ongoing basis for Open Book partnerships. There is no cost for your organization to participate. However, we will ask you to distribute the books so that the child can choose their own titles and supply some basic information to help us match your children’s interests and acknowledge BookSpring by name whenever possible. We also ask you to share about your distributions and credit BookSpring in social media and with your community.
Open Book is primarily for new or one-time partners, and recipients of the program will need to schedule a pick-up of their books once they are selected and ready for pick-up from our offices. This program does not include volunteer coordination, motivational kits, and supplies, or other program supports. Ongoing distributions through Open Book are not guaranteed. See our Programs page for more structured and recurring offerings.
Building Capacity for Everyone
In exchange for these free books, we request that you help promote BookSpring throughout your organization, as well as on social media, and we will do the same for you! More details about this will come after you apply.
In addition, you might consider organizing a Book Drive, which will help keep the books flowing. By participating through both programs, you gain BookSpring’s expertise in sorting, leveling, and labeling donated books to help your staff get the right books to the right child every time.
It takes everyone working together to help build early literacy in all families, and we hope you’ll join us in launching children into a world of reading!
