Things to do Together

Talk: Tell stories about what has happened in your past! This could be family history, childhood stories or memories, or just things that happened last week.

Write: Tell a story about something that happened in the past, either to you, a family member, or something in the world.

Create: Create a timeline together! Take a piece of paper and start the timeline with the first event in history you can think of. Do some research on this if you’d like! Then end the timeline with the present day (2021). See how many events you can remember to fit in on the timeline.

Move: Get outside and explore! Many of the rocks and trees around us have been around for many years. Are there any landmarks in your neighborhood or city that have been around for a long time? You can get online together with your family and do some research!

Explore: Take this video tour of The Great Pyramid of Giza, built over 4500 years ago! Or check out this video of discovering fossils!

Share Together

At the end of the week, reflect on what you read and what you did.

  • Did you learn anything new about history?
  • What is something interesting that happened in the past that you’d like to learn more about?
