Bibi here. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. The four seasons are a wonderful cycle, a pattern that repeats year after year after year. Hot, cold, dry, or rainy, you can count on the beauty of each season. Just like books, they’ll always be there to help you, even as they change. It’s always a good season to read a book!

Things to Do Together
Learn more with our partner Austin PBS: Play the Super Seasons Snapshot Game
Talk: What are the four seasons? Can you name them in order starting with winter? Practice saying all the seasons’ names: winter/spring/summer/fall. Talk about which season we’re in right now and why you do/don’t like the season from right now. What do you wear in winter that you don’t get to wear in the summer and vice versa?
Write: Practice writing the names of the seasons and then drawing a picture of elements that go with each season (snow, sunshine, flowers, swimming, back to school, rain, Halloween, etc)
Play: Dress up for the seasons! Go to your closets and grab different items like sunglasses, coats, boots, umbrellas, gloves, hats, swimsuits, beach towels, scarves, and other things you can think of that you’d use in different seasons. Set a timer for one minute and call out a season name and put on as many items as you can for that season!
Move: Get outside and find out what this season looks like by you! Think about the climate, nature, and how it feels outside. Is it cold? Wet? Dry? Are there flowers blooming? Can you see your breath? Are you wearing a jacket or sunglasses?
Share Together
At the end of the week, reflect on what you read and did.
- What did you learn about seasons?
- Do you have a favorite or a least favorite season? Why?
- If you could make it any season right now which would you choose and why?
