BookSpring Endowment
Literacy is a long term game. Help build home libraries for years to come by supporting the Pat Fuszek Endowment Fund – BookSpring at Austin Community Foundation.
Established in 1998, the annual distributions from interest on the principal of this programmatic Endowment support the ongoing programs of BookSpring and helps to ensure support for historically underserved communities across Central Texas long into the future. This fund was established by Mr. Paul Andrews in honor of Pat Fuszek, former Executive Director of Reading is Fundamental of Austin, which merged with Capital Area Reach Out and Read in 2008 to become BookSpring. A longtime supporter of early literacy, Ms. Fuszek served in this role tirelessly and faithfully for 18 years, a testament to the reliability and resilience of BookSpring’s core work here in Central Texas. While the fund currently holds only a modest amount, a total endowment of $1 million would provide approximately $50,000 of program services each year, or about 25,000 “forever” books annually!
