Staff Spotlight: Bianca Paz-Cisneros, Director of Development and Public Relations

What is your job title at BookSpring and what does it mean to you?

As the Director of Development and Public Relations, I feel like it’s my job to make sure that we have enough funding for all of the programs and books we need to fulfill our mission. It also makes me feel like it is my job to make sure I give everyone the opportunity to get involved and be a part of something meaningful. I enjoy working for BookSpring because it means I get to work with other individuals who all want to work towards something good, like getting books into the hands of children and families who need them most.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

My favorite part of what I do is getting to personally thank people for the contributions they’ve made and show them what their support has made possible. I also love setting fundraising goals, working towards them, and achieving them, because when I achieve them it means that I have been able to impact the lives of so many children and families.

I think any change that we want to make in the world starts at childhood. The experiences, education, and upbringing a child has will shape their future and the future of our world. Children really are our future and I think it’s important that we invest in it. I also love giving people the opportunity to be a part of that future with me.

What do you see for the future of BookSpring?

In the future, I see my role at BookSpring changing but the main focus of my job, fundraising, remaining the same. I really think BookSpring is just about ready to flourish. It’s been growing for quite a long time, but with a new space and a great team, I think you’re going to see it really take off.

What would you like to tell the BookSpring audience about yourself?

I’m so happy to be a part of BookSpring and so thankful to everyone who’s supported and shown kindness to us…and I am absolutely obsessed with all my 6 pets!
