Things to do Together
Here are some great activities to try with the whole family.
- Take a few glasses/jars (you must use glasses/jars that are the same as each other) and tap the side of each glass with a metal spoon – what do you notice about the sound each glass makes?
- Now put a different amount of water into each one and tap again – what do you notice now?
- If you look on Youtube for “musical glasses,” you will find videos of people playing using the same idea but using their hands to create the sound by touching the rim of the glass.
- Make your own kazoo using the cardboard roll from a roll of paper towel. Cut a square of wax paper and put it over one end, using an elastic band or tape to secure it. What happens when you blow through the roll?
