All we want for Christmas

Submitted by: Executive Director Joan Wabschall

At this time of year, I enjoy listening to Christmas carols and seeing the wonder of Christmas in the eyes of children. Many people are familiar with the lyrics to “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”, but a lesser known song that is among my favorites has the following lyrics:

Bet you’ll get a great big kick
From this letter to St. Nick.
Written by the cutest little girl,
This is what she wrote. Quote:

Santa Claus, dear Santa Claus,
I am writing you because…
I’m a little girl you see
And need someone to play with me.

I still have my last years’ dolls,
So I don’t need another.
But if it’s all the same to you…
Bring me a baby brother!

I have everything I need,
Dresses, games and toys.
But Santa listen to me please…
We are really short on boys!

Santa Claus dear Santa Claus,
Don’t tell Dad or Mother.
‘Cause I want them to be surprised
When they see my baby brother.

Is that cute or what? At BookSpring we are fortunate to work with children every day and while some may want front teeth and others may want baby brothers, they all need books. During this season of giving, we hope you remember BookSpring when you decide what charity you will support. We also have a Wish List of items that we need around the office, and would be very appreciative if Santa would consider our list.

Please take a minute to look at ways to give to BookSpring.

Merry Christmas to you all and I hope that your Christmas is blessed with family and friends.
