There are many important people who have come before us. They are people to remember because they have done good things that have helped other people. They are people we can learn from. Are there any names of famous people that you’ve heard that you’d like to know more about? I bet there might be a book about them. Let’s look!
Read together at home
Here are some books to read together! (Add intro to specific titles here)! You can download and save them and keep them forever, to read again and again.
Things to Do Together

- It’s not only important to remember famous people, but we also need to remember people in our families. Spend some time sharing memories and stories about family members. Children love hearing about things from their childhood or their parent’s childhood.
- Some famous people you might want to talk about are Harriet Tubman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Malala Yousafzai, Cesar Chavez, Ellen Ochoa, Nelson Mandela, and Mahatma Gandhi
- Talk about the characteristics that these people had and how that helped them change the world. It’s not only about what they did but also the tools they used to do so. Believing in yourself, standing up for what you think is right, being able to see things from another perspective, and thinking about the people around you, as well as yourself – all these are characteristics that these people share.
